Amidst the confusion

It's been a while
And really, not much content here. Maybe I get around to doing a real post in a little while, but right now just wanted to plug my photos on Flickr and try out their new embed-able slideshow thing. Enjoy.
(Sorry the title of the slideshow is so stupid... I don't really have control over that)

So Heather and I have gotten our tickets to Europe and are planning out where we're staying. First, I'd like to say that we did pretty well with the tickets - $760 round trip isn't bad at all. If you're going anywhere, I suggest www.vayama.com (yea, plug, but since it did well for me, figure why not?)

In any case, we're going to arrive in Cologne, spend about 4 days there. I've heard it's a pretty cool city... Roman ruins, cathederal, the like. After we're done there we'll hop on a train to Salzburg. Here we're going to follow sumobob2sumobob2's advice and go to a nearby town/lake. I'm thinking it'll look pretty darn nice in fall. In any case, we're not quite sure just yet what those days will be split up by, but again another 4 days abouts there.

After this we take a train to Venice, spend time there (4 days... sensing a pattern? :) ), and after that I have this idea to rent a car (only car we'd probably plan on renting the entire trip, if we do) and drive from Venice to Milan over the course of two days... the idea here being that we could take our time and take in the countryside (which I hear is pretty cool), take lots of pictures and relax.

In Milan we are only planning on staying long enough to go to London, in which case we will tour London for 4 days with the final day being a Chelsea match (which I am crazy excited for).

That's the plan, not too much detail just yet, but we're getting it ;) You all might get more information before we leave or you might not, but you can be sure that you'll get pictures when we get back.

(no subject)
So Heather and I are the proud owner of a new key. That key ends up costing a lot of money, but since it unlocks the doors to a very nice house I won't complain about having to spend thousands of dollars for one tiny little key...

House and other pictures
Uploaded a lot of pictures to Flickr, so here's my general picture announcement.

Well, first I'll just post a picture of the house:

Melbert Wedding
Chrissy and Leee Wedding

Well, that's all for now.

For those who care or were there:

Photos & Stuff
A few photos that I took down in Florida.

Greyhound Racing

and this may be one of the best pictures I've ever taken. That isn't a crop folks, that's straight off the camera and into your homes, places of employment, libraries (which for some may be one and the same as either of the other two) or anywhere else you get the internet.

More photos comming soon, but the rest are less globally appealing (lots of family, etc).

So Florida was good - not that much warmer than Kansas actually, since Florida was freakishly cold and Kansas was freakishly warm (go figure). I saw lots of family, and that made the entire trip a success just by that. Got to really get to know my sister's boyfriend. He's Polish and quite cool. My sister will apparently be spending a good amount of time in Poland and isn't too thrilled to be in the cold and darkness. My father is now retired as well, which is good for him but it might drive my mother crazy.

In other news - I am typing this from my very own Home Theater PC (HTPC). That means that this is a computer that is running on my TV. I have XP MCE running on it (but will get Vista when it's out), and can now do cool things like pause television, record shows and well... post to LJ from my TV. I must say it looks damn good to have a 42" monitor.

Lets see - other than that, work is good... not having to work crazy hours as much anymore, so I'll be regaining my life back. Oh - I'll be going to UMKC for graduate school (Masters in Computer Science). And we now have a decent kitchen table. Hurray.

I should go to sleep now, but perhaps now that I have a computer in my TV I will update more often.

Picture of the Week
For those who care - picture of the week is back up on the Crumpets website, so go put some captions in and stuff.

And more pictures

Promise there will be a journal-ish type entry at some point....
